HQ endeavours to provide a safe environment for all patrons and staff. To achieve this, HQ has implemented the following:-

Senior First Aid Training

During all operational hours there are always staff who are currently certified to administer Senior First Aid. HQ renews and updates all certificates annually to ensure patrons and staff have first aid readily available when required.

Responsible Service of Alcohol

Bar Staff and Managers are trained and certified in Responsible Service of Alcohol.

Fully Qualified Security

All Security personnel are licensed with the Office of Consumer and Business Affairs and meet all criteria to work as Crowd Controllers under South Australian Legislation.

Metal Detectors

At every entry to the venue metal detectors are in use. This measure is taken to ensure no undesirable objects are taken into the venue.

Cameras

HQ is home to almost 200 individual surveillance cameras, all recording continually under trained operators supervision during operational hours. The monitoring of the cameras works in conjunction with the security team to ensure prompt response times.

No Glass Policy

As a South Australian first, HQ has removed all traditional glassware and replaced it with polycarbonate cups, this includes stubbies. The polycarbonates are durable and shatterproof, thus reducing the number of glassware incidents to literally zero.

Dedicated Taxi Rank

The Taxi Council of SA and HQ work together to provide safe and efficient means of arriving home via the usage of a dedicated Taxi Rank located directly outside of HQ’s doors.

Cooperation with SAPOL & Liquor Licensing

HQ cooperates with SAPOL and OLGC in all aspects of the venue, from service of alcohol, admission of patrons through to providing video footage.

Underage Events

HQ takes extra measures to ensure the safety of children during underage events. Breath testing is conducted at point of entry, all alcohol and cigarette advertising is covered, time out room is in use so no children are ejected from venue, Police are advised in advanced of all underage events.
